February 2021 ….Covid 19 has played havoc with the world and with me personally. It has put a stop to all proposed speaking engagements and as I struggle to work Zoom or other web technologies, it has made it difficult for me to operate other than through email.
2020 was also a difficult year in that I suffered a stroke in August. I am now back up and running with regard to email and I am working on another book, or two actually. One is a collection of short stories and poems and the other focuses on my family history and that of the Knills, my late husband’s family. These are being tackled as my strength allow.
I am looking forward to 2021 being a productive year and hope that before long talks to schools and organisations will be possible once more. Nothing beats personal contact!
September 2022 ….. We, Iby’s Family, are sad to announce that Iby passed away on April 17th 2022. This was Easter Sunday, and a significant day – the anniversary of her Liberation in 1945. This is certainly not the end, and we are working to secure her legacy as an educator, survivor and phenomenal woman with the Holocaust Centre North https://hcn.org.uk/.
A selection of Iby’s short stories will be available on the website during 2024.
